Emily is someone who pays close attention to the world around her – so much so that she tracks the species, order, family, location, and first sighting date of every bird and wildflower she encounters. She discovered early on that tax accounting was the perfect blend of numbers and law and even likens preparing a tax return to solving a crossword puzzle. After working at several firms, she joined DSWD Advisory, drawn to its strong technology mindset and its support for remote team members.

• Greatest Extravagance Under $100: Starbucks coffees and knitting with 100% merino wool or other natural fibers, because the yarn feels better than acrylic or cotton!
• Books, Movies, or TV: Books, especially the classics. She reads 60–80 books per year and has too many favorites to choose just one.
• If You Had One Day to Do Whatever You Want: Explore nature with her husband and kids, hiking and kayaking included.

She homeschools her kids, teaches 4th-5th grade, and junior high at their homeschool co-op.
